Wilwood Dakota R/T Disc Brake Conversion

Southeast Performance has long known the problems with your Dodge Truck braking issues just like you have learned. We gave out loads of rotors and brake pads over the years to help overcome some of the problems. In the end, we heard all your requests for something better, something to stop the warping rotors and poor efficiancy of the stock brakes.

We teamed up with one of the best, Wilwood Brakes to develop a really "One Of Custom Brake Kit" containing all the best of the best for your Dodge truck. Huge rotors and Superlite calipers make up this kit and include all the necessary components for a real all wheel disc brake kit like No Others.

What do you want? 4 Piston, 6 Piston, 8 Piston, 12 Piston. Why so many? Is more better? Does the number of pistons make the caliper clamp more on the rotor? Let's clarify piston questions right now. It's simple and without question. Clamping force is line pressure times piston surface area.

In a given location, you cannot put 6 pistons with the same surface area as four pistons. The six pistons will always be smaller in overall surface area. Also, some manufacturers would have you believe that six pistons spread the force more evenly over the back of the pad. However, even if they did gain here, (which they don't), the resultant weaker caliper as a result of placing a piston in the key stress area of the caliper, creates a far weaker caliper.

Other calipers are developed with 4 pistons as well but with overall smaller piston surface areas, additional caliper weight with smaller caliper design compared to our Wilwood Superlite calipers. Our Wilwood two piece rotors also dissipate heat more effectively than other rotors. Plenty of advantages included with our kit to make you stop the best.

They did it right, Huge 4 piston Superlite Calipers, large performance brake pads, thick Wilwood two piece rotors, Solid Steel Brackets, and Stainless Braided brake lines. Hardware, proportioning valve, and instructions are all included.
