Chrysler 5.7 - 6.1 Hemi Air- Oil Separator

HEMI Oil Catch Can 
This custom fabricated billet oil catch can for the 2005+ Charger, Challenger, Magnum and 300 equipped with 5.7L or 6.1L HEMI engines features a unique drain system, filter media and custom fit brackets to withstand the rigors of intense driving applications.

How a your HEMI’s stock PCV System works
The PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system is designed to remove any excess fumes from the HEMI engine crankcase, which if it didn’t, could cause oil leaks or seal damage. The PCV system routes crankcase fumes into the intake manifold where they can be burned to eliminate harmful emissions into the atmosphere. The PCV valve controls the amount of crankcase flow volume depending on the engine's load. With large throttle openings (high engine loads) more blow-by gases are produced, and thus the PCV system flows a greater volume oil vapor in to the intake manifold. The PCV valve also functions as a check valve to prevent intake manifold flow from reversing back into the crankcase when there is a backfire, or when there are periods of high manifold pressure (boost) due to forced induction such as turbocharger or supercharger applications.

If my HEMI has a PCV system, why spend money on this oil catch can?
Oil Catch cans collect the oil, moisture and blow-by gas that causes carbon and sludge build-up in the intake system and engine. Over time, sludge can decrease performance and damage expensive intake system elements like the throttle body or the MAFS (Mass Air Flow Sensor). Our oil catch can also maintains the air to fuel ratio preventing retarded timing, loss of power, and even detonation of your Performance engine. This bolt on upgrade for your HEMI keeps your HEMI performance parts clean even under the most grueling driving conditions.

All catch cans are not created equally. Moroso’s oil catch can is designed with a patented washable filter media that provides the maximum filtration while not hindering airflow, unlike other catch cans that may restrict flow and decrease performance over time. This kit also and has a vent on the bottom of the can which allows for the optional attachment of a hose to the drain. For a custom installation a hose may be run through a hole in the belly pan.
