In the high-horsepower NHRA drag race arena, Grant said, “Our relationship with that sanctioning body continues to grow stronger every year as we build on the annual operating meetings we initiated several years ago. We work with the series as it implements rule changes and develop the appropriate tires.
“Goodyear made huge strides in bias sports car racing tires in 2004 and for 2005. Upon returning the production of sports car tires to Akron in 2003, our engineering staff updated many designs, that paid off in 2004 with tremendous gains.
“We hold a great deal of optimism for Goodyear’s 2005 performance. We're building more race tires than ever before.
